In every respect, from height to ironing-board chest, he is a "sister" to the hundreds of androgynous, but female models who man the catwalks.

Na camisa do look feminino, era possível ler a expressão "Oh Lord, I have sinned", (Oh Senhor, eu pequei, em inglês).


Em entrevista a QUEM após o desfile, Genest falou sobre as suas tatuagens e surpreendeu ao contar que não premeditou ter o visual que exibe atualmente. "Comecei fazendo uma tatuagem, mas não sabia que ia terminar nisso, a coisa foi me levando, eu não planejei ter essa aparência que tenho hoje. Cada um desses desenhos representa alguma coisa na minha vida, mas não representam nada em especial", afirmou o modelo, que também falou sobre a experiência de desfilar no Brasil.


"A energia do desfile e do público foi muito especial. Ontem fui a uma festa e por isso estou um pouco cansado, mas estou pronto para outra", contou Genest, que atacará de DJ na festa promovida pela grife na noite deste sábado (4).

當天 Pejic 剛結束一場西班牙雜誌服裝攝影，席地長襬禮服、毛皮大衣、寬邊毛氈帽和兩片玫瑰色的雙唇，透過他呈現出完美的女性角色形象。
如果因工作需要身著女裝，在路上碰到類似搭訕，Pejic 通常不會刻意戳破對方的美夢，因為他明白自己的外貌容易引來誤會。他在澳洲墨爾本出生長大，2009 年迅速被當地經紀公司 Chadwick 簽下，但同時也被明白告知，在相對偏好男子氣概的澳洲市場，他活躍的空間不太多：就男人而言美得太過火，但又不是真正的女人。

接下來一年，Pejic 從高中畢業後搬到英國倫敦，極端雌雄莫辨的外表，讓他甚至難以爭取英國經紀公司的合約。他回憶當時情況說到：「記得那是個氣候惡劣的雨天，我沒撐傘走在街上，感覺像電影場景般不真實，心裡想著：『天啊，我花了媽媽的錢跑來倫敦，然後連家要我的公司都沒有。』」天無絕人之路，第 5 間面試經紀公司—由 Sarah Doukas 執掌的風暴 (Storm)，終於給了他工作機會。Doukas 聲稱：「在我第一眼看到 Andrej 的時候，心裡想的不是這男/女孩真漂亮，我並不想把他放到固定的框架裡。」風暴公司不只讓他作為男模出場，同時也為他承接女模業務。

即使是對外貌再有自信的女性，和 Pejic 一比仍有輸在起跑點的感覺，19 歲的他身高 6 英呎，穿的鞋子尺寸是女鞋 11 號，豐盈的金色長髮和圓潤玫瑰色的雙頰，令人聯想起性感女神 Brigitte Bardot 的青春風采。


就在波士尼亞戰爭爆發數個月前，Pejic 出生於波士尼亞 Tuzla 的一個中產階級家庭內，母親 Jadranka 是個律師，父親則是經濟學家，但戰事迫使雙親分離兩地，母親帶著 Pejic 和他哥哥 Igor 逃往賽爾維亞，父親留在國內。投奔住在澳洲墨爾本 Broadmeadows 的祖母後，Jadranka 執起教鞭任教為生。
回憶起童年時光，Pejic 小時候喜愛和女孩們一起玩扮裝遊戲，穿成吉普賽女郎。而在逐漸明白身為一個男孩，他的行為並不被接受的時候，還因此消沉了數年時間。


或許是正值叛逆期，在 13 歲的時候他終於爆發，穿上緊身牛仔褲又染了頭髮，且開始化妝。Pejic 解釋到：「我對外表的要求是為了自己，當開始試著妝扮，攬鏡自照的美麗樣貌讓我開心，我沒有什麼心理障礙，一直以來我都希望讓自己漂亮、美麗，就像女孩們都有的願望。」


Pejic 起先擔憂他的家人反彈，但很快他發現無此必要，身為哥哥的 Igor 對弟弟極為保護，父親則人在遙遠他鄉，只有偶爾能通上電話。至於在母親和祖母面前，他表示：「她們二位都為孩子奉獻上自己的人生，因此向她們隱瞞自己的真實樣貌，感覺相當奇怪。」


Perij 母親比較擔心的是他的人身安全，但他順利進入位於城中心的精英中學就讀，過得就像個妙齡少女。「即使走在市鎮中心街道上，人們還是不會察覺我的性別，這是我個人的小小解放。」Pejic 如此說到。
Jadranka 緊盯兒子的動向新聞，且在她的臉書上大加宣傳，向每個朋友分享他的資訊。看到他在 Gaultier 的婚紗秀出場時，她在澳洲電視節目《Sunday Night》上誇讚到：「他是我看過穿婚紗最美的女孩了。」

Pejic 自己表示：「以我的感覺來說，並不想刻意營造分立自己的性別，我想做我自己，只是湊巧我喜歡的一些東西比較女性化罷了。」


實際上形容 Pejic「中性」似乎不太正確，絕大多數陌生人斷定他是女孩。因為他的喉結極不突出，且下顎線條細緻玲瓏，雖然腿毛經過自己剃除，但其餘體毛並不發達。「我認為沒有必要刻意解釋，他們根本沒有察覺，我自己也喜歡保持一種整體神秘感。」Pejic 這樣說到。


雖然對他人的外貌性別成見不甚在意，他卻提出了自己的質疑：「現時社會上，如果一個男性被稱作女人，那會成為他最不堪的侮辱，這種想法從何而來，是因為女人比較低等嗎？」Pejic 表示，他知道社會大眾希望他為自己「辯白」，用「我只是偶爾化點妝的男孩」這種話粉飾太平。但他說了：「這真的一點也不重要，我不需要非黑即白的性別分類認同，我就是我自己。人們利用我這一點，作為創意或者市場商業用途，對我來說，就只是剛好有那項技能，然後拿它來賺錢罷了。」


自從 1917 年，時尚女王香奈兒 (Coco Chanel) 棄緊身衣轉向擁抱水手服後，雙性特質便一直是時裝界的賣點所在，但它也始終是一個燙手山芋，容易被性慾化。在 1960 年代，變性女模特兒 April Ashley 的男性身份曝光，因而丟了工作，從那時起穿著扮相女性化的男模，一律和同性戀畫上了等號：如變性佳人 Teri Toye、Connie Girl 和 Candy Darling 等等，Pejic 則認為這種觀點不夠先進，僅執著於性別本身，因此受囿難以超脫。

Pejic 欣賞現被 Givenchy 簽下的變性名模 Lea T，他橫跨在男女的分界點上，而非認定自己就是女性，且朝向時尚界鍾愛的中性/無性形象看齊。時尚網站 Lookbooks.com 總編 Cator Sparks 表示：「我想這將是中性題材頭一遭成為中堅主流，我不會再抱持嘲弄心態，平凡白人美女的時代已經過去了。」
時尚雜誌《L'Uomo Vogue》的特約編輯 Rushka Bergman 說到：「他是條由上天遴選的變色龍，沒有人比 Andrej 更美麗！」


美國基因模特兒管理公司 (DNA Model Management) 和 Pejic 簽下國內合約，協議簽成前他們甚至連 Pejic 本人都沒看過，單憑他的作品和名氣便足以說明一切。基因裡頭一位經紀人 Kendall Werts 說到：「Pejic 第一次來事務所穿著全黑衣裝，搭配緊到不能再緊的 Gaultier 外套，帶著一種引領紐約女性時尚潮流的氣勢。在他開門踏入的瞬間，所有人為之震懾驚艷。」


在感情生活方面，因為他的雙向性外貌，Pejic 處事令人訝異地小心謹慎。他表示自己常常吸引男性，不然就是有同志傾向的女性。在他的處世哲學中性別不太重要，因此吸引他的對象也並不特定。他說到：「我可能不是個很重情慾的人，但我的確憧憬愛情，且樂意有所體驗。目前為止我還沒有嘗過戀愛滋味。」在被追問下，他才透露喜歡的是具有幽默特質的人，他自嘲到：「因為我自己嘴巴很毒，所以沒辦法和不理解的人往來。」


Pejic 的中性美貌並不是每次都帶來好事，今年春季期間，據傳邦諾書店 (Barnes & Noble, Inc.) 要求將當期《Dossier》雜誌包上不透明塑膠袋販售，因為封面是 Pejic 裸著上身的照片，他們擔憂顧客將其誤認為女性露點照。《FHM男人幫》的全球百大性感美女票選上，Pejic 榮登第 98 名，該雜誌行文間將 Pejic 指稱為「物品」，之後才公開發表道歉聲明。這些新聞只令 Pejic 事業更具話題性，他對此表示：「我好像就是會引起話題，整個人生充斥著爭議性，就像小甜甜布蘭妮一樣，我能怎麼辦？」

身為世代更迭迅速的時尚界一員，Pejic 正在努力存錢，為未來的事業發展作打算，也許是實況電視秀、寫書出版，或者前進好萊塢，身為一個青春洋溢的 19 歲少年，他的發展擁有無限大的可能性。

2011-6-24 百大性感美人 超級美型「男」模入選

 男性、女性向來形象壁壘分明，但在時尚圈，男女性別的界限卻日趨模糊，男模可穿女裝登台走秀，甚至為女性泳裝代言，目前時尚圈最炙手可熱的「男性女模」Andrej Pejic，甚至一度被FHM雜誌選為世界百大性感女性第98名。

 只是名單公布沒多久，先是招惹出太多性別爭議，認為Andrej Pejic生理性別是男性，不應放入性感女性的名單，後有英國版的FHM 以「thing（東西）」稱呼Andrej Pejic，引發外界一陣撻伐，最後FHM發表聲明向他道歉，但也取消他的入選資格。 

來自澳洲墨爾本、現年19歲Andrej Pejic讓人「雌雄莫辨」，第一次現身在時尚頑童Jean-Paul Gaultier女裝秀上，整場秀走完，沒人發現他是男性。

 外電指出，性感內衣品牌Victoria's Secret傳出有意簽他為代言人，Andrej本人不排斥變性，但認為目前狀態很舒服。 

時尚圈最近也出現「變性」模特兒Lea.T，她原是男兒身，且是 Givenchy 設計總監Riccardo Tisci 的助理，Riccardo 鼓勵 Lea. T 從男人變身為女人，並讓她在高級訂製服秀上現身，並成為 Givenchy 的廣告名模。

Na passarela da grife Auslander, Andrej Pejic, o modelo andrógino que causou rebuliço ao subir na passarela da Jean Paul Gaultier com look feminino, usará duas roupas, uma masculina e outra feminina. "Gostei mais da feminina", confessou.

Em rápida conversar no backstage, Andrej contou que seu voo atrasou 15 horas de Nova York para o Rio de Janeiro e que ao chegar aproveitou para fazer um passeio pela praia da Copacabana, zona sul da cidade. Indagado sobre Lea. T, a modelo transexual, ele respondeu: "Somos amigos".


Sobre suas preferências na moda internacional ele cita Balenciaga, Gucci e Prada, no Brasil ele citou Alexandre Herchcovitch. Sem contar a sua modelo preferida. "Amo a Raquel Zimmermann", citou. Atento a moda, Andrej fez elogio aos cariocas: "Achei bem legal o que vi nas ruas", comentou.

Andrej Pejic is a nineteen-year-old super androgynous male model with Croatian and Serbian origins. He moved early with his family to Australia (not Austria ;) though, where his international model career began.

Extraordinary Feminine Features

There has been a lot of buzz recently, because of Andrej's stunning feminine look. Actually, he is currently one of the most successful male (and female) models (ranked 11 on models.com). Crossing male and female apparel, he has run for international star designers such as Marc Jacobs and Jean Paul Gaultier in both women's and men's fashion, bringing male androgyny to the next level.

100 Sexiest Women in the World 2011

FHM has even ranked him into the list of the 100 Sexiest Women in the World 2011 (on rank 98, one position before Lady Gaga ;) which was previously reserverd for women only. However, shortly afterwards they removed his (reportedly transphobic) article from their Web site, showing the still remaining controversy in the topic.

Female androgyny on the other hand is nothing new and already reached mainstream, so why not also establish a "girlfriend's look" for boys?

When Melbourne’s oldest department store, Myer, recently reopened their flagship store, they pulled off a huge coup by bringing fashion’s man of the moment, Andrej Pejic, home to celebrate. Pejic joined well known models Jennifer Hawkins and Jessica Hart on the red carpet for the gala opening, but all eyes were on him – the male model who is famous for looking like a woman.



Gender bending goes in and out of fashion. Musicians like David Bowie, the stars of glam rock and Boy George have all blurred the gender boundaries. Riding the current wave is Pejic, the 19-year-old Broadmeadows boy who is threatening to rewrite the laws of fashion.

Art Nation met Pejic during a shoot for J'Aton Couture on his recent return home to Melbourne.

As fashion editor Patty Huntington observes, "There’s something quite sexy and subversive about a man in a dress...

"The effect that Andrej’s had in fashion, it’s really like a bomb going off’."

Pejic has emerged as the poster boy for fashion androgyny. Designers such as Jean Paul Gaultier and Marc Jacobs have been so taken with his unique feminine look that they have featured him in their high profile women's fashion campaigns around the globe. But Pejic’s life and his journey from suburban Melbourne boy to the global catwalk model has not been without its challenges. Born in Tulza, in Bosnia and Herzegovina, his family fled the war torn region in the 1990s before settling in Australia as refugees.

Pejic began to experiment with his ”look” as a teenager and was soon picked up by modelling agency, Chadwicks. Since then his career has taken off internationally, making it the stuff of fairytales. However, his rag to riches story hasn’t pleased everyone. When he took to the catwalk for Jean Paul Gaultier’s women’s haute couture show in Paris - the first man ever to do so - there was a feminist backlash with headlines like, ‘Fashion’s Ultimate Insult to Women’ splashed across the tabloids.

However, Pejic himself is enjoying the ride and claims to be equally happy modelling men’s or women’s fashion. He has even become a role model for many young men eager to express their feminine side and young male models keen to follow his lead.

"Andrej is a special story," says Huntington. "He’s become an icon."
