Interviewer: The legend says that the first person who put you in women’s clothes was Carine Roitfield saying: “let’s put him in Fendi!” can u tell me more?

Andrej: - Well it was my first major editorial job, Vogue Paris and that’s just how it happened. It was all very organic. The dress looked good and for me it felt naturally to have it on. I was happy I could fit into sample size :)

You are playing with men’s and women’s wardrobes, which ones do you feel more comfortable in today? What dress do you like the most from both side?

- I like masculine womenswear and feminine menswear, mostly my wardrobe is womenswear though and I like feminine things with masculine pieces. I would wear a classic black dress with a biker jacket. What favourite women’s brands are alexander mcqueen, helmut lang, givenchy and balenciaga whereas my favourite men’s labels are rick owens, jil sanders and dior.

Have you ever felt like a new candy darling?

- I am a big fan of Candy Darling, I can relate to her situation in some ways and I understand her sadness too. But then our personalities are quite different, for example my ultimate goal in life was never to be famous and adored, but I did always seek acceptance like her.

Was all the attention to u a kind of revenge towards all those who didn’t believe in you?

- It’s always nice to be able to prove yourself in some way and exceed people’s expectations, but I don’t dwell on impressing people who didn’t believe in me, I like to concentrate on people that do.
I think fame plays a negative role in society today, and it can be hard to deal with on a personal level. Right now and maybe for the next few years it is, and will be, part of my job and I think I will be able to deal with it without it changing me and maybe I’ll even use it to project things that really are of true significance to the world.
